Fall Shelter Events for 2022 – Part 2

Fall is upon us, and its been a very good summer at the shelter.  We still have a large number of dogs and cats in our care who need homes, so if you are interested in adopting, please visit our Adoptable Pets page.  Remember that we only list animals that have seen the veterinarian and are ready for adoption, so we always have more in our care than are listed.

From May through September, the wonderful people at Ricky’s Cruise In made us the beneficiaries of their 50/50 raffle for the season.  Every week (except for a few rain outs) owners of classic cars gathered at the Refinery in Andover to show off their stuff.  We had a table many of the nights and got to meet plenty of car lovers who were also animal lovers!  The total raffle donation for the shelter was just under $1,500 for the summer.  A big THANK YOU to the whole Ricky’s team!  Check out the picture below of Levi presenting the “big check” to our shelter manager, Krista Hebert.

On September 10 and 11, we had a table at the Renaissance & Fantasy Faire, hosted by the Franklin Lions Club and held at Odell Park in Franklin.  The weather was spectacular and we had a great time “getting medieval” with a lot of the staff, vendors and visitors of the event.

The following weekend September 16 through 18, we participated in the summer Chili Cook Off, hosted by the Franklin Masons of Meridian Lodge #60.  Kudos to the City of Franklin for being voted “Best Chili” at the event!

Finally, we were at table C14 at Granite State Comic Con in Manchester.  This event was a lot of fun, with the table staff all dressing up as Star Wars characters for the event.  We met plenty of great people, a lot of service dogs, and collected some wonderful donations over the three days.  We also got to debut our new FAS T-Shirts at our table this year.

We are currently into our Fall Fundraising series.  Our fall Lucky Paw Raffle tickets are currently for sale  This is a 50/50 raffle, with a maximum of 200 tickets to be sold and a potential jackpot of up to $5,000!  You can get tickets online here or at the Shelter.  Even more exciting, the winning ticket will be drawn at our first annual Bowl-a-Thon event, to be hosted by our friends at FunSpot on December 10th.  We are only able to have 20 teams participate at the event this year, so sign up soon!  We are also looking for lane sponsors.
