VOLUNTEER

Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

Are you looking to give back? Maybe fulfill some community service hours? Do you want to simply help the animals in our community? Volunteering at the Franklin Animal Shelter could be what you’re looking for.

Volunteering at our Shelter is rewarding, fun, and helps to improve the lives of the animals in our care. We’re always looking for volunteers to help the staff in the mornings and evenings. We do require our volunteers to be at least 16 years old, and be able to commit to one 2-3 hour shift per week. It is also preferred that all volunteers are comfortable with working with both cats and dogs.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Dog walking and yard play
  • Laundry duties
  • Sweeping and mopping
  • Cleaning dog/cat kennels
  • Helping with donation pickups
While we understand that some of these responsibilities are more appealing than others, it is important that our volunteers know that you may be walking dogs one day, but then doing laundry the next day as there are many things that go into making our Shelter as clean and operational as we are.

If this sounds like an opportunity for you, click the button below to download the Volunteer Application. Email your completed application to fas_vol@yahoo.com or drop it off at our shelter during regular business hours.
